Was bedeutet die Einladungspolitik FLINTA* and Queers only?
Im Vorfeld zum Festival haben wir uns viele Gedanken zur Einladungspolitik für das Festival gemacht. Wir möchten, dass das Festival sowohl ein queerer als auch ein feministischer Raum ist – daher die Einladungspolitik. Wir wollen an dem Wochenende des Queerzilla-Festivals einen sichereren Raum schaffen, an dem FLINTA* (Frauen, Lesben, Inter, Nonbinary, Trans, Agender) Personen und Queers eine gute Zeit miteinander verbringen können. Eingeladen sind alle, die sich irgendwo in diesen Begriffen wiederfinden. Jede Person kennt die eigene Geschlechtszugehörigkeit und die eigenen Erfahrungen selbst am besten – Geschlecht ist von außen nicht erkennbar. Es ist uns wichtig zu sagen, dass keiner Person die Legitimität, am Festival zu sein, abgesprochen werden soll. Wir wollen uns alle dazu auffordern, achtsam mit Zuschreibungen umzugehen. Uns ist klar, dass auch diese Einladungspolitik erneut Barrieren schafft, die wir aber Stück für Stück überwinden möchten. Das Festival ist für uns als Orgagruppe der erste derartige Versuch, wie es gelingen kann, einen Raum für FLINTA*s und Queers zu gestalten, damit alle eine gute Zeit haben können, einen sichereren Raum vorfinden, um Neues auszuprobieren oder einfach viele liebe bereits bekannte oder neue Menschen zu treffen. Ein paar der Workshops sind FLINTA* only. Dies einerseits aufgrund der Inhalte der Workshops oder weil es so von Workshop-Leitenden gewünscht war. Hierbei geht es nicht darum, am Festival erneut Ausschlüsse zu reproduzieren, sondern darum, einen möglichst inklusiven Raum zu schaffen, in dem sich alle wohl fühlen können. Da uns bewusst ist, dass auch queere und FLINTA* Räume nicht immer safer-spaces sind, es auch in diesen Räumen unterschiedliche Hintergründe, Diskriminierungserfahrungen, Hierarchien und gewaltvolles Verhalten gibt, haben wir für Samstag ein Awareness-Team am Festival. Genaueres dazu findet ihr in einem extra Text. Wenn das Awareness-Team nicht vor Ort ist, sind wir von der Orga immer für euch ansprechbar. Die Menschen vom @bitebackcamp haben sich zu einer FLINTA* only Einladungspolitik schon viele Gedanken gemacht und diese auch niedergeschrieben. Uns hat der Text bei unseren Gedanken sehr geholfen und wir möchten euch diesen Text als wärmste Leseempfehlung weiter geben.
What does the FLINTA* and Queers only invitation policy mean?
During the preperations for the festival we have been thinking a lot about the invitation policy. We want the festival to be both a queer space and a feminist space – this is why we chose this invitation policy. We want to create a safer space for FLINTA* (Women, Lesbian, Inter, Nonbinary, Trans, Agender) people and queers to have a good time together on the weekend of the Queerzilla festival. Everyone who finds themselves somewhere in these terms is invited. Each person knows their own gender and their own experiences best – gender is not recognisable from the outside. It is important for us to say that no person should be denied the legitimacy of being at the festival. We want to challenge all of us to be mindful of attributions.
We are aware that this invitation policy also creates barriers, but we want to overcome them bit by bit. For us as an organising group, the festival is the first attempt to create a space for FLINTA*s and queers, so that everyone can have a good time, find a safer space to try out new things or simply meet lots of dear people who are already known or new.
A few of the workshops are FLINTA* only. This is partly because of the content of the workshops or because it was requested by the workshop leaders. It is not about reproducing exclusions at the festival, but about creating a space that is as inclusive as possible, where everyone can feel comfortable.
As we are aware that queer and FLINTA* spaces are not always safer spaces either, and that there are different backgrounds, experiences of discrimination, hierarchies and violent behaviour in these spaces, we have an awareness team at the festival on Saturday. You can find more details in a separate text. If the awareness team is not on site, we from the orga-crew are always available for you.
The people from @bitebackcamp have already thought about a FLINTA* only invitation policy and have written it down. The text helped us a lot with our thoughts and we would like to pass it on to you as a warm recommendation to read.
COVID- Information
Wir bitten euch alle, sofern ihr die Möglichkeit habt, vor dem Festival einen PCR Test zu machen, damit wir zumindest eine gewisse Sicherheit bzgl. Corona gewährleisten können. Es werden vor Ort auch einige Antigen-Tests zur Verfügung stehen, solltest du noch einen Antigen-Test machen wollen. Wir möchten schon im Vorfeld mitteilen, dass die Konzerte und Auflegerei in einer Halle stattfinden werden, in der keine Maskenpflicht sein wird. Bei den Workshops und Lectures bitten wir alle anleitenden Personen, die Workshops den Bedürfnissen der Anwesenden und den Workshop-Möglichkeiten entsprechend zu gestalten. Bring also bitte unbedingt eine FFP2 Maske mit zum Festival, weil es sein kann dass Workshops mit Maske stattfinden. Es gibt auch Workshops, die bei schönem Wetter im Freien stattfinden werden. Solltest du im Vorfeld schon einen Wunsch bezüglich der Corona-Sicherheit in einem Workshop äußern wollen, bitten wir dich, uns an programm@queerzilla.org zu schreiben.

For the workshops and lectures, we ask all instructors to arrange the workshops according to the needs of the attendees and the possibilities. AWARENESS
Dieses Festival ist für FLINTA (Frauen Lesben Inter Nonbinary und Trans) Personen und Queers only. Wir möchten gemeinsam einen Raum an diesen drei Tagen schaffen, in dem wir Neues lernen und ausprobieren und Erfahrungen sammeln können, feiern uns austauschen und eine gute Zeit genießen wollen. Das bedeutet aber, dass auch jede einzelne Person auf diesem Festival Verantwortung übernimmt. Es wird ein Awareness Team – insbesondere am Samstag abend und in der Nacht geben, an das ihr euch wenden könnt, wenn ihr selbst oder eine andere Person Unterstützung benötigt. Zu erkennen ist das Awareness-Team an den pinken Queerzilla Shirts. In der Zeit, in der kein Awarenss-Team vor Ort ist, melde dich bitte immer an der Bar oder bei den Orga-Menschen. Das Festival ist, wie bereits beschrieben, offen für FLINTA und Queers. Das heißt, es sind alle Menschen willkommen, die sich als solche verstehen. Wir bitten euch alle, die Anwesenheit von Personen am Festival nicht in Frage zu stellen. Uns ist bewusst, dass es auch in vermeintlichen Safe-spaces zu unangenehmen Situationen kommen kann. Sollte es zu übergriffigem/grenzüberschreitendem/diskriminierendem Verhalten dir oder einer anderen Person gegenüber kommen, melde dich bitte beim Awareness-Team
AWARENESS
This festival is for FLINTA (Women, Lesbian, Inter, Nonbinary, Trans, Agender) people and queers only. We want to create a space together during these three days where we can learn and try new things and gain experience, celebrate, share and have a good time. But this also means that every single person at this festival takes responsibility. There will be an awareness team – especially on Saturday evening and night – that you can turn to if you or someone else needs support. You can recognise the awareness team by the pink Queerzilla shirts. During the time when there is no awareness team on site, please always report to the bar or to the orga people. The festival is, as already described, open for FLINTA and queers. This means that all people who see themselves as such are welcome. We ask you all not to question the presence of people at the festival. We are aware that even in supposed safe-spaces unpleasant situations can occur. If there is any assaultive/border-crossing/discriminatory behaviour towards you or another person, please report to the Awareness-Team.
